| This is possibly the hardest ride I know of. 69 miles, 5800ft of climing and around 5hrs in the saddle. I went out with Twinklydave who has known people to sit and cry then abandon the ride half way around because they cant even walk up the hills anymore, he used this as a training ride for the Transalp as it was the only thing he could find more difficult! The route starts in Preston then heads up to Darwen Tower, across to Rivington Pike and then past the big satellite masts before heading to Peel Tower, then theres the long slog home. Mostly offroad, in the mud and across moors with nasty winds. |
